威武锦标赛
next event : 21 february sunday
WeiWu Championships aim to provide competition experience and development for all club members at all belt and skill levels. The Championships is run using KPNP electronic system for 8 years old and above.

Here are some great reasons to participate in tournament competitions!

Test Your Skills
Tournament competition is an opportunity to take your training and put it to the test. Competition tests physical fitness, technique, stamina, timing, mental strength, and determination in ways your regular training doesn’t. Just like in belt grading, tournament competitions offer an opportunity to show that training has made a real difference in your ability level over time.

Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone
When you train in class, you get comfortable with the training floor, instructors, peers and sparring partners. Competing in a tournament competition puts you in a new environment where you have to perform in front of many people you don’t know. It is this act of stepping out of your comfort zone that pushes you to work that much harder.

Challenge Yourself
When you step out on the competition floor, it’s a true test of skill against a competitor – an opportunity to gain a new perspective and find out how sharp your instincts really are when you
have to think on your feet.

Overcome Your Fears
Martial artists must learn to stay calm in stressful situations. Tournament competition creates jitters for sure. Sometimes it can cause some significant adrenaline surges you need to take control of and learn to channel into useful energy. Learning to stay focused and relaxed, lower your heart rate and breathing rate under stress in order to be able to perform at the highest level is a skill that is only developed over many opportunities to try it in practice.

Build Confidence
Whether you win or lose in tournament competitions, you will finish your fight feeling empowered knowing that you did what you set out to do.

Build Character
Winning and losing is part of any competition; and healthy competition is good. It creates opportunity to build mental strength and determination but it also offers a chance to learn humility. Compete often enough and you will see that there will always be someone who is a stronger competitor than you are. Tournament competitions give you the opportunity to test your skills, recognize your weaknesses and congratulate others for their successes regardless of
how you place.

Have Fun
Tournament competitions are really fun… and you get to receive one of our attractive custom lanyards and win an awesome medal!
