My journey with taekwondo has been a less than conventional one.
It was my dream to do taekwondo when I was 7, having come across kids my age practicing at the sports hall near home. My school principal did not sign off on my consent form as it was deemed to her as not a suitable activity for girls. I went about growing up, putting aside my childhood dream.
Meanwhile half my family have gotten their black belts since then. And when chance came about back in 2018 due to my family, I started embarking on my taekwondo journey. I am grateful to have the opportunity to take up taekwondo when I am older even though it has been challenging with time and memory!
From being the first adult student in Weiwu to having fellow adults club members to train and go through the journey with has been a fulfilling one. Between work life and covid times, it has taken a little longer than usual to get to this point. Though I have proven that it is never too old or late to achieve any dream.
Thank you, Master Brian, Master Joyce, Master Bryanna and Master Benecia, for all your guidance and extreme patience in my taekwondo journey to getting my Black Belt today.
