I first joined Weiwu Taekwondo in 2016 when I was 4 years old. It has been 5 years since I started and now I’m approaching to black belt. I have learned a lot of things during this journey.
What I’ve Learnt The first thing I learnt from Taekwondo was to never give up. To never give up means to always try again and again even though you keep failing and in the end, you’ll eventually get there. When I learned basic pattern it took me month to learn it. It was hard work, but in the end I got the basic pattern right with a lot of practise. Now, I’ll never forget basic pattern.
The next skill I learnt from Taekwondo was bravery. Bravery is the skill to overcome fear and do the task you’re supposed to do. I learnt bravery in Weiwu Taekwondo when I was too scared to do front kick on board breaking when I was 8, but now I have overcome my fear and now I can do every kick I learned in taekwondo for board breaking.
Lastly, I improved my concentration during my taekwondo journey. I was distracted by others a lot but I’ve improved with the help of the Weiwu Taekwondo masters and my family. But I still have a little concentration problems. What I will do in the future. In short, I have learned a lot of other things except the things I mentioned above from taekwondo, such as kindness, patience, integrity, determination, trial and failure and persistence. I still have a long way to go in practising Taekwondo. I would keep practising taekwondo until I get to a very high level of ability which is able to execute actions with determination and efficiency.
