1st poom | june 2025 My Taekwondo journey started in March 2022 when I was 6 years old. I started learning because ever since I was little, I always admired people who did kung fu and loved watching kung fu movies. So, when I heard about a Taekwondo class, I was super excited to join! After trying one class, I felt like a pro already—so I decided to sign up. Of course, I wasn’t really a professional yet. I was nervous to ask questions, but also really excited to learn new techniques!
In November 2022, I joined the Warrior Team and started fast training. At first, it was really hard to keep up, and I felt kind of embarrassed. I wanted to quit because everyone else seemed stronger and faster than me. But after a while, I started catching up! A few months later, I was really sad that I had to quit the Warrior Team and stop fast training because I didn’t have time. There were some tough times on my way to becoming a black belt. I had a few problems, but I eventually found a solution. Sometimes I thought about quitting, but every time I did, I remembered why I even started, and that made me want to keep going. I’ve always wanted to learn martial arts, and I’ve come so far—so I didn’t want to give up. I’ve learned so many useful things like self-defence, kicks, hand techniques, and other cool moves. I really liked Taekwondo from the start, and I still love it now. Before I started Taekwondo, I wasn’t confident like other people. But now, I feel much stronger and more confident. I feel special in my Grade 4 class because I’m one of the few kids who learn Taekwondo in my school. I do hope I become black belt one day! |
