1st poom | march 2025 Hello Masters and everyone, my name is Marius, and today I would like to share my Taekwondo journey with you.
I started Taekwondo when I was three years old. At first, I felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. As I began learning different kicks and punches, I found them fascinating and thought they looked really cool. In 2021, I joined Weiwu as a yellow belt. However, due to COVID-19, I had to train online, which meant I did not get to meet the masters in person. Training at home was not as exciting, but I kept pushing forward. My red belt grading did not go well, which was a tough moment but also a turning point as I refused to let it discourage me and motivate me to take it seriously moving forward. One of my biggest dreams was to join the Warriors team. I practiced tirelessly, determined to improve, until I finally earned an invitation. Training with the team was intense but incredibly rewarding. I felt both proud and grateful for the opportunity. My first competition was an unforgettable experience. The nerves overwhelmed me, so I struggled to stay calm under pressure. It did not go as I had hoped, but I took it as a learning experience and determined to improve. In 2024, I won gold at the selection competition, earning a spot at National Championship in Brisbane. It was very hot, so I cooled off in the corridor. But when my turn arrived, I took deep breaths, stepped onto the mats, and focused. There was pressure, but this time, I embraced it. When the match ended, I had won gold and became a national champion. It was a moment that I will cherish forever, and it fueled my excitement for the future. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to thanks the Masters for the guidance, support, and patience in my Taekwondo journey: Thank you Master Brian for guiding me in poomsae and helping me grow stronger. Thank you Master Joyce for teaching me the techniques that form the foundation of my skills. Thank you Master Bryanna for helping me refine and perfect my kicks. Thank you Master Benecia for always pushing me to do harder and never be lazy. Thank you Mum and Dad for finding such a perfect club for me and giving me the opportunity to pursue Taekwondo, shaping a brighter future. Taekwondo has taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of perseverance. This journey has been filled with challenges, but also with growth, achievements, and joy. I look forward to continuing to improve and seeing where this path takes me next. Thank you. |
