1st poom | june 2025 Dear masters and parents
In 2021 when I first received my black belt, I felt happy and overjoyed because my hard work had paid off. In class we practiced our poomsae techniques and I really enjoyed it because I was getting pretty good at it. In Warriors, we practise all kinds of sparring techniques and we all got stronger and fitter. When my mum first told me about competitions, I was pretty excited because I've only done one before I was a black belt, but when the competition in the 10th of July 2021 came really close to happening, I got really nervous because I was a bit scared of the results I would get. When the competition started, I was just trying to warm up with my friends and have a chat with my mum because my mum was trying to tell me to try my best. And I did try my best and I brought home a gold medal, my parents were so happy. Now we skip until these few very good week because last Sunday our team had a poomsae competition where we technically only versed out club because there weren't that many other clubs going into our division, in my first round of the division I only won my 0.001 and I was not happy because I almost lost, them the second round was when I versed josh and lost the first pattern by 0.001 again but then after that pattern I won the next pattern by I don't know 0.05 so I won that round, it was really close. Then after that. Versed the hardest person in our division ISAAC WONG he had very good kicks and good power and I didn't have good kicks and had not that much power that day I don't know why, but the first pattern I lost by like 0.08 or 9 ad then with the second pattern I lost by like 0.07 or 8 I forgot but I lost that round and brought home a silver medal. After the comp the team had team dinner and nothing really cool happened there, we just ate our food and played some games and left after to go home and have a good sleep for the next day because we had school. I want to get 2nd dan because I want to try and challenge myself to try new patterns in competitions at a higher level. I just want to thank all of the masters for all of the ongoing support during my taekwondo journey, I couldn't have done it without all of you. Thank you. |
