Good afternoon, Master Brian, Master Benecia, Master Bryanna and Master Joyce.
My name is Christian Yiin. When I first started my taekwondo journey in 2021 as a white belt, I lacked any strength or self-defence knowledge.
Now, I am currently grading for my black belt, and my family think I am so strong and imposing that I can kick anyone’s hand with a roundhouse with “minimal accuracy,” specifically Master Brian’s.
But seriously, I do believe that taekwondo has made me prepared for black belt by aiming to learn and perfect all my hand strikes, self-defence, kicking techniques and patterns.
In addition to this, it gave me a new challenge about discipline, and how to master the skills for black belt via continuous asking for help and practise.
This taekwondo also aims to perfect on putting power into those kicks and punches, as well as accuracy, but I probably should not tell the accuracy bit to Master Brian after my grading kicks last time. Overall, this taekwondo is great for people who plan to learn how to defend themselves (i.e. just run away from a knife) and I also hope to continue such that my brother(s) can finally catch up to my level for once.
