I started my taekwondo journey in 2021. At first l thought it was easy to pass grading, but it was actually challenging myself a lot. I tried my best in my first grading and l made it! I was getting familiar with the self defence, contact sparring and what we always do at the start. I had a great time trying to get higher belts through grading.
Through all this time my personal favourite activity is poomsae, since it is fun. My favourite pattern is pattern 8 because l have learned it for my 2nd grading. My 2nd favourite activity is board breaking. A main technique in board breaking is to punch in the middle.
Taekwondo helped me learn new patterns, self defence and terminology. It was very scary at first, but l got the hang of this now. I remembered that grading wasn’t hard until red belt. As l learned new terminology, combination, self defence and patterns. It got challenging to keep up with my grading and learn everything in a few months.
Thank you Master Joyce for teaching me how to do poomsae, as well as you Master Brian for teaching me how to do self defence. Thank you Bryanna for teaching me how to do kicking techniques and thank you Master Benecia for teaching me how to do blocking techniques.
I had a great time to get this close to black belt in my journey. It has took three years to just come on this grading to grade to black belt, so l can’t give up now! I now know all the techniques from white belt to black belt. I had a great experience getting new belts and having great masters! And thank you so much Master Benecia, Brian, Bryanna and Joyce for teaching me.
