Hi Everyone, I’m Hula and I am 8 years old. I started taekwondo when I was 3 years old in 2016. I did taekwondo in Joon No’s Burwood East but I did not grade . I learnt some easy skills such as blocks , kicks , stances and a little bit of self defence.
When I was 4 years old I changed to Joon No’s Mitcham because there were more little kids and my mum thought it was more suitable for me and my brother. In the beginning I was very nervous because the only person I knew was my brother. All the Masters made me more comfortable and made me more involved in every single way. Then I had my first grading and I graded to yellow 1. In the beginning of the grading, I was very nervous but I did my best and got there in the end. When I got my yellow belt, I was very excited and happy. I was very proud of myself. I thought Taekwondo was really fun so I kept doing it. I also met a lot of new friends. Thanks to all the Masters.
I want to thank all the Masters for helping me learn Taekwondo. Master Brian, Thank you for always encouraging me whenever we do board breaking. You are also kind to me and other kids. Sometimes you have high expectations but you just want us to be more confident in every single move. Master Joyce, Thank you for always correcting me when I do something wrong. You also helped me a lot when I was younger. Master Bryanna, Thank you for teaching me in a fun way. You always help me learn quicker. You also helped me practise this grading very well and you went through all the stuff that I needed for my grading. Master Benecia, Thank you so much for leading us in Warriors and pushing us harder each time and making us do more than we think we can do. Thank you for also teaching me Poomsae and making my kicks and patterns perfect. I appreciate having all of you as my taekwondo teachers.
On the other hand my parents have to work hard as well. Such as driving me to taekwondo. Waiting for 1-2 hours and driving me back home. My parents get really tired. I am really thankful for my parents. They have been driving me to taekwondo for 5 years or more. I am really thankful for my brother as well for helping me practise my gradings. I am really happy how I am standing here for my Black Belt grading and how I made it through all the tough things. I am so happy that I achieved my goal to be one of the Black Belts. Thank you so much Masters and I hope you have a great day.
