Good afternoon Master Bryanna, Master Brian, Master Benecia, Master Joyce, family, and friends. Welcome to my 2nd Dan Grading.
After 2 and a bit years of training, we are here at our next grading, which I thought came faster than expected. My journey through these lessons have been fun, as well as hard, and it has made me stronger, both mentally and physically. Before quarantine, I got to coach fellow clubmates in Poomsae, and sparring, as well as work with them. It has been a fun experience, and I learnt a lot from it, like how to train kids the right way and what I could improve on, like different techniques from stepping back to counter and quick back kicks. It was fun, and I felt like I could bond with the other classmates. I also was able to attend multiple black-belt classes, where we learnt how to develop our leadership skills.
Quarantine, which was not only self-isolating, was like a test to see if I could train without seeing others besides my family. I felt slightly bored at times, but I showed resilience and continued to progress each lesson, and started to learn how to master each technique.
More and more everyday, I am still learning things from my masters, from mastering basic pattern, to trying to side kick properly with my toes down and leg straight. Thank you for teaching me during quarantine, and I hope to continue to see you guys as I continue taekwondo.
A massive thank you to Master Brian and Master Joyce, who has been teaching me how to fully master my blocks, techniques, and kicks. And also thank you for helping me with my wrist…. But also thank you to Master Byranna and Master Benecia for coaching me in the Poomsae competitions that happened before coronavirus. Thank you to my family for helping me train at home, and thank you Chloe, who has helped me train the most, from allowing me to train with her and helping me improve my techniques! And with that, thank you for listening.--
