Hello, I am Calamus Chan and I am grading for Black belt today. In the last 4 years of my Taekwondo journey, I learnt a lot.
I heard about Taekwondo first when I was 7 years old. I was young and was like "mommy i want to do this and that”. This is when I came across WeiWu Taekwondo. I was as curious as a baby born into the new world and fond of trying out. I joined and was extremely happy about this decision.
However, after red belt, I started to have too many other activities. I tried my best to balance the time between school, other activities and practicing Taekwondo. Under this pressure, I learnt about perseverance, persistence, patience and endurance.
My acknowledgement: Thank you all, Master Brian, Joyce, Bryanna and Benecia . Thank you for fixing my mistakes and guiding me through all the obstacles yet past and present. Without any of you, I would have never completed any of my goals in Taekwondo
To Master Brian: thank you for fixing my patterns and self defence skill. Thanks for supporting me through the entire year, doing all you can, shaping me into what I am today.
To Master Joyce: thank you for doing last minute drills to help me catching up in grading and teaching my grading patterns.
To Master Bryanna: thank you for teaching and supporting my self defence. Thanks for helping me to improve and correct blocks, strikes and kicks.
To Master Benecia: thank you for you always gave me encouragement when I was a tiny little yellow belt. You always trying to push me ahead, and try hard, and always will.
My achievement today is an amazing memory that I will never forget. For 4 years, I have worked my hardest to achieve all I can and I’m proud of that. Taekwondo taught me to work and endure in everything that challenges me, present and future.
