Good evening Master Brian, Master Joyce, Master Bryanna, and Master Benecia.
I started taekwondo roughly 3 years ago, and that was the beginning of my taekwondo journey. The main reason I joined taekwondo is because I wanted to try something new and interesting. I had a friend who did Karate, she had an impact to me wanting to persevere in martial arts. So, I did it and I have never looked back.
Taekwondo has taught me the meaning of dedication, persistence, confidence, practicing repeatedly and of course, keeping up with fitness. It has also taught me self-discipline which I will take into my lifestyle, how to have a drive for a goal, whether that’d be getting my black belt, learning a new pattern, or remembering all my terminology, it has taught me how to motivate myself to succeed. It has taught me about respect, how to respect my masters and to listen and learn from them.
Although this year has been a bit weird, thank you for putting the time in for online sessions during these last few months, it has been so helpful. I immensely appreciate all the hours and work you spend for everyone, making them the best they can be.
Even though, I haven’t been to many competitions, I think warriors training has greatly improved my sparring and fitness. All the wall kicks, duck walks and bunny hops, have paid off. Thank you for always encouraging me to kick higher and faster. I have learnt so many new skills and techniques and I look forward to growing and improving more and more.
Thank you, Master Joyce, for organising numerous events throughout the years. Thank you, Master Brian, for helping me to perfect my poomsae and all the techniques involved. Thank you, Master Bryanna, for always encouraging me to put in 100%, and for always making everyone laugh. Thank you, Master Benecia, for greatly improving my sparring and making me push myself. I would also like to thank my parents for driving me to and from all the trainings.
Thank you for all the support throughout these years. I look forward to becoming a black belt and continuing my taekwondo journey.
