Dear Masters and friends, this is my taekwondo essay.
My name is Ayrton and l am a skinny boy, and because of this my parents want me to learn skills to protect myself.
My Taekwondo journey took one or two years longer to start because when l was young, I tried a few lessons in different clubs but I was scared of the loud noises. However, when l tried a lesson at Weiwu for the first time, it was actually fun and exciting. (Thank you Master Joyce!)
During my first grading to green belt I didn’t know what l was doing, but luckily l passed. I remember watching some black belts during their classes and thought to myself that they were really good. This is when l told myself that l have to get to black belt and be just as good as them. From then on, l took each grading seriously, always practicing and trying my best to pass.
I was really enjoying Taekwondo lessons but then training took a different way of learning, through online using video call because of lockdown. The training classes were not as easy as face to face because it was zoom and sometimes I could not see Masters’ demonstration clearly, but l got use to it and kept on training.
It is fun doing FAST and Warrior trainings, and l am looking forward to Poomsae training. I have now learned techniques that let me protect my family, friends and myself. l have learned patience and calmness through Poomsae, and in Warriors l have learned how to fight people. Thank you Masters for teaching me all that I have learned, for making me stronger and much fitter. Most importantly for teaching me Taekwondo in a tiring, but fun and enjoyable way, and l want to continue it for years to come.
